Donald Trump Easily Outpaces Democrat Presidential Candidates in Oklahoma

The results of AI’s most recent statewide poll of likely voters show President Donald Trump “winning Bigly” against both potential Democrat nominees. In head-to-head matchups, Trump beats Sen. Joe Biden by margins of 57-33. He beats Sen. Bernie Sanders by a slightly wider margin, at 59-30.

Trump is also outpacing other Republicans when it comes to his personal popularity in Oklahoma. The president’s job approval rating stands at 59%, with 45% of all respondents saying they “strongly approve” of the president’s performance in office. That ever-so-slightly tops Sen. James Lankford’s approval rating of 58%, Governor Kevin Stitt’s of 57%, and Sen. Jim Inhofe’s of 53%.

Where Trump really shines is his ability to unite Republicans. His approval rating with likely GOP voters stands at a remarkable 90%. By way of contrast, Stitt polls at a lower (but still respectable) approval rating of 74% among Republicans.

Of course, Trump also does more to unite Democrats than other elected officials with 75% saying they disapprove of his performance in office.

Our statewide survey was conducted from March 5-8, 2020, and included a pool of 500 likely voters in Oklahoma. These survey results were weighted based on age, gender, party affiliation and level of education. This survey has a margin of error of 4.38% at a 95% confidence interval. The poll surveyed both cell phones and landlines and used a combination of live callers and an online panel of likely voters.
