Amber Integrated FL Poll: Rubio Holds Lead; DeSantis Cruises

The public affairs and survey research firm Amber Integrated has released a new poll measuring the opinions of likely voters in the upcoming Nov. 8 general election in Florida.  The survey was conducted from Nov. 1-2, 2022, and included a pool of 600 likely voters.  It has a margin of error of 4% at a 95% confidence interval. It is weighted by party affiliation, gender, age, education and race/ethnicity.

Key findings include:

  • Marco Rubio (R) has an eight-point lead over Val Demings (D) in the race for US Senate, with the ballot standing at 48-39. Three percent of respondents support libertarian Dennis Misigoy and one percent remain undecided.

    • Rubio holds substantial leads over Demings among independents (19-point margin), men (25 points), white voters (24 points) and Hispanic voters (36 points).

    • Demings holds leads among women (four points), Black voters (83 points), and those with graduate degrees (15 points).

    • Among the 53 percent of respondents who have already voted, 50 percent say they voted for Rubio while 47 percent voted for Demings. Of those who have not already voted, Rubio leads 48-31.

  • In the race for Florida governor, Ron DeSantis (R) now has a 14-point lead over Charlie Crist (D), with the ballot standing at 53-39.

    • DeSantis has a commanding 27-point lead among independents and a 28-point lead among men (he also leads among women by 3 points).

    • Crist holds predictable and substantial leads on the ballot among Democrats (82-12) and Black voters (87-9), as well as smaller leads among those with graduate degrees (48-45) and voters over age 65 (50-47). Outside that expected base of support he is failing to gain ground on DeSantis.

    • Among those who have already voted, DeSantis leads 53-45. Among those who have not already voted, DeSantis leads 54-34, with a larger percentage undecided.
